You know, I've been wanting to share the funny story of how I revealed my being a brony to my parents for a while now, so here it is if you'd like to hear it.
I have to start off saying that my parents are truly awesome. Not only are they incredibly understanding, but they're also very proud and approving of my work! (Awesome, right?) After all...I got my creative writing skills from my mom and my artistic mind from my dad. Heck, my dad has even helped proofread my re-written story chapters from time to time! Talk about being there for you!
Anyway, so I'm at college and it's my Fall semester of 2012. I've been a brony for roughly a year now and I've been drawing artworks on DA since April. Until this point, the only person to know my fandom is my friend, who is also a fan. Since it was more of an occasional hobby at the time, I never thought much of it. I wasn't ashamed or anything, but I didn't know how to put it. But there I am, sitting at my computer in my dorm room, when my dad sends me an email saying...

He had found my DeviantArt! I knew he'd be understanding, but I thought there'd be more awkwardness in the "I'm a 21 year old guy who likes My Little Pony" reveal. Instead, he totally made the discovery hilarious and lighthearted (while using his favorite cartoon of all time, Dexter's Lab). Of all the possible outcomes, this was... the.... best... kind. It all went better than expected for both of my parents, and to this day, they continue to show support for my side-hobby. 
Story Rewrite Example
While I alter and edit my story, I sometimes come across parts that need a total rewrite. Take this scene between Radiance and Flora in Chapter 5, for example. Radiance was the "popular girl" and Flora was the timid introvert. This scene was meant to emphasize this and to dive into Flora's inferiority complex. However, reading this now, I feel that Flora's treatment of Radiance was too harsh. I wanted to find a way to better show that they are actually FRIENDS while still having that hint of envy. This new draft, I believe, better demonstrates their personalities and their dynamic as friends. I hope you enjoy reading it. I certainly have enjoyed writing it. ORIGINAL VERSION: With a quick goodbye, Radiance and Flora left the spa and made their way to the nearest stores. As the two walked, they ran into a group of young stallions. With the effects of the spa making them extra sparkly and fresh, they had no difficulty getting looks and whispers. Flora blushed at the attention.

Living in Japan
I know I've fallen off the map the past 5 months, but I thought I'd give a life update.
In January of 2019, I moved to Chiba, Japan.
I am currently teaching English, and for the past two months I have been without internet in my apartment. As of this week, I have it now, thankfully.
Since I started writing on DA, I've moved from Tennessee to Arizona to China to Arizona to Massachusetts to Arizona to Japan. Crazy.
But I thought I'd let it be known that I'm alive. And yes, the story WILL be finished. I will not let that fade away.
But how have you guys been? How's your life going?

I have only told one friend and she was ecstatic because she finally met a brony who is her friend. I need to think of how I tell my parents, but that shouldn't be too difficult, it just might be a bit awkward
