Apple Bloom and her nephew Bucky (Applejack's son) have a family moment when the CMC cape is handed down.


Bucky is the third Apple family member to be part of the Crusaders after Apple Bloom and his older brother, Bismarck. Once again, he remains one of the last of his classmates and friends to get his cutie mark, but with Orion (Twilight's son) and Peach Cobbler (Fluttershy's daughter), they make a brand new team on a journey to get their marks! Despite being an excellent lyricist and good singer, Bucky is very shy of his abilities, so few know about them.

I've been releasing mother-child pictures of my OC's, but this time I wanted to do something a little different. An aunt-nephew picture is just as heartwarming.

I put a lot more detail into this, so I'm pretty happy with the result. It's nice getting asked if this is a vector when it's not. I added smaller details like wood grains, a slightly dirty bottom of the barn doors, minor shading, etc. (Note: I didn't draw the CMC logo on the cape. I decided to let that be official).

Obviously a lot of his design was based on Applejack when she was his age, with the many white freckles, green eyes, and use of yellow and orange.
